This November we were thrilled to support the launch of the Organisation Studies Research Group and its visual identity at QMUL. The event discussed the importance of addressing existential challenges that organisations face today.
Our contribution to developing the visual identity of the research group
In the spring of 2024 we collaborated with Dr Szilvia Mosonyi and Dr Rowland Curtis to develop a visual identity for their research group. This included creating a compelling mission and vision, as well as developing brand guidelines. This project followed the successful collaboration we’ve been developing with the School of Business and Management (SBM) at QMUL through the SBM Research Insights series.
We designed a unique logo that emphasises the crucial role of people in shaping the organisation, while also reflecting the values of its members. To ensure the logo resonated with the group, we presented multiple options. These options were then shared with the wider team, giving members the opportunity to select their preferred design. Based on their feedback, we refined the chosen concept to create a logo that truly embodies the research group’s core values.
In addition to the logo, we conducted a thorough audit of their website, optimising its structure and content. We provided content strategy support, designed wireframes and created visual assets. Additionally, we worked closely with their web team to ensure implementation onto the existing web structure.

Engaging panel discussions on organisational challenges
The launch event for the Organisation Studies Research Group featured a panel of academics and industry leaders who shared their perspectives on the challenges faced by organisational leaders:
- David Genn explored the idea that every strategic challenge is fundamentally a people challenge. He also called for organisational leadership that unites teams and translates academic insights into practical business and organisational models.
- Professor Maja Korica highlighted how the post-COVID era has redefined workers’ relationships with their jobs, urging leaders to focus on reducing distractions from core responsibilities and addressing structural barriers to innovation.
- Bettina Reinboth focused on the importance of organisational leaders being well-versed in world affairs and taking them into account when making decisions related to organisational strategy.
- Anita Sekaran addressed the need for a balance between specialists and generalists in organisations. She emphasised intellectual curiosity, integrity and technical knowledge as key traits for future leaders.
- Professor Hugh Willmott raised the critical issue of integrating governance and ethics into business education, challenging the dominance of neoliberal philosophies in organisational strategies.
The discussion from the panel also delved into the intersection of leadership, ethics and the increasing role of AI in organisations and its associated risks.

Our sincere thanks to the Organisation Studies Research Group
A huge thank you to the Organisation Studies Research Group team for inviting us, to Emma Taylor for bringing the diverse panel together and to Dr Andromachi Athanasopoulou for moderating the discussion.
The launch was a success and it was a pleasure to see how our collaboration was beneficial to them.
We really liked working with Research Retold particularly because we got the chance to work with such lovely people who are clearly experts in translating research into practical knowledge. But also following a process that is quite methodological and set out very clearly in terms of what was required from us and what will be fed back to us.
